New Vision Clubhouse is a place for people with mental illnesses to reconnect with the community and develop a sense of belonging and self-worth. Here, members find a safe, supportive environment to learn new skills, gain confidence, and bring balance back into their lives. Here, people meet others, make friends, and learn to work together as a community. New members take beginning steps to reenter the workforce. Employment is the cornerstone of a healthy recovery.

Currently employers and positions are being sought. Job coaches from New Vision Clubhouse provide vocational counseling on site and work through any employer-employee issues assuring the job duties are performed at satisfactory or above standards. The potential employee's readiness is assessed prior to job matching. New transitional employment placements are being developed where members and employers are guaranteed the job gets done.

New Vision Clubhouse promotes the partnership model of psychiatric rehabilitation, where members play a critical role in the operation and governance of the clubhouse. Members and staff work together on tasks that benefit the clubhouse and members. Recovery from mental illness is enhanced through these experiences because it gives individuals a sense of accomplishment and competency, as well as being a valued member of the community.

New Vision Clubhouse is a voluntary program that offers choice, equality, and respect to all members. Focus is centered on strengths, abilities, and talents of members. As July 2007 the clubhouse will be offering psychiatric rehabilitation services. The same quality of service members have enjoyed will continue. However, those recipients of Medical Assistance who require further rehabilitation supports will receive enhanced individualized care. Referrals for this service need to meet medical necessity criteria. This will be determined by New Vision staff based on regulations.
