Camp Speers-Eljabar was established in 1948 as the first YMCA camp to accept children of all ethnic groups, races, economic backgrounds, religions and nationalities. Nestled around its own 42-acre Nichecronk Lake in 1,100 forested acres of the northeast Poconos, Camp Speers-Eljabar offers an array of programs and services for local and out-of-state children, youth, families and groups. Programs for children, youth and families: School Age Child Care, Summer Day Camp, Horseback Riding Lessons, Summer Sleepaway Camp, Horseback Trail Rides, Cross Country Skiing (conditions permitting) and Vacation Fun Camps. Retreats & Getaways: Mother-Daughter Weekend, Family Camps (Memorial Day and Labor Day Weekends), Outdoor Recreation for scout, church, youth, teen and family groups and retreats. Programs for School Groups: Outdoor Education, Leadership Development, Conflict Resolution, Teambuilding, Adventure, Class Trips, and more.
